Meet the Team
Emily Johnson, M.S., CCC-SLP
Emily is a board certified speech language pathologist and owner of Juniper Therapies. She received her masters degree in communication disorders from Arizona State University and has worked in private practice and public schools for more than 10 years. She currently serves on the board for Oregon Speech Language Hearing Association (OSHA).
Emily specializes in diagnostics and loves working with children of all ages, but middle schoolers have a special place in her heart. She also loves parent coaching, multidisciplinary service models, and loves collaborating with other practitioners and preschools to provide the best possible care to the Central Oregon community.
Emily grew up in Denver, Colorado and currently lives in Bend with her husband and 2 young children. When she’s not working, you can find her gardening, singing, playing the violin, viola or guitar, baking, painting, or paddle boarding on the Deschutes River.
Malyne Rasmussen, M.S., CCC-SLP
Malyne grew up in the desert town of Reno, Nevada. She completed a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she received a departmental award for academic excellence and clinical competence. Then she moved to Bend, OR to serve the local pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations in our community.
Malyne has 4+ years of experience in various settings and has supported children and adults with numerous communication needs. Her speech-language interests include stuttering, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, severe phonological disorders, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), articulation secondary to hearing loss, aphasia, cognitive-communication, family coaching, and early language development.
When Malyne is not at work, she enjoys adventures with her dog, gardening, yoga, hiking, paddle boarding, and traveling.
Sidney Davie, M.S., CCC-SLP
Sidney has a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Warner Pacific University and a Post baccalaureate in Communication Disorders and Sciences from the University of Oregon. She received a masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Gerontology certification from Pacific University in 2022.
Sidney previously taught for several years as an early childhood/elementary teacher, which led to her career in Speech Language Pathology. She has worked with a variety of populations ranging from infants to adults with diverse communication needs. Sidney’s areas of interest include; voice, cognitive communication, social pragmatics, feeding/swallowing, and early language development. She values collaboration with families and other health care professionals to provide holistic treatment that improves the lives of the clients and families attending Juniper Therapies.
During Sidney’s spare time she enjoys reading, paddleboarding, and traveling with her husband and dog.
